1. that we set on our Clients’ websites and the websites of Third Party Clients (as defined below) (together, “Client Sites”); and
2. on our website at (“Our Site”).
This Cookie Policy is also intended to assist you in making informed decisions when using Client Sites and Our Site.
Please take a moment to read and understand this Cookie Policy. This Cookie Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and our Website Terms and Conditions of Use.
What are cookies?
Cookies and similar technologies are very small text documents or pieces of code, which often include a unique identifier. When you visit a website or use a mobile application we ask for permission to store this file on your computer or mobile device, and access information from it. Information gathered through cookies and similar technologies may include the date and time of visits, what device you are using to view the website, and what you do on that website, for example click/view/scroll.
First and third party cookies
A cookie can be first or third party, which refers to the website that places the cookie. First party cookies are set when a user visits a website or domain by that domain. Third party cookies are set by a website other than the one being visited by the user. Third party cookies are often used for marketing and persobnalised advertising on a specific website, as well as across other sites.
In this Cookie Policy, our cookies, which are third party cookies, are also referred to as “Volvelle” cookies. For the purposes of this Cookie Policy, Volvelle cookies include cookies set by the domain a.volvelle.tech.
For more details on cookies and similar technologies, you can visit All About Cookies.
Our use of cookies
Where we provide Services to Clients we act as a third party (from the Clients’ perspective) when we set Volvelle cookies and similar technologies on Client Sites.
In the rest of this Cookie Policy, we refer to all technologies using some or all of the above features as “cookies”.
How long do we keep information that we collect from cookies used on Client Sites?
We retain personal data that we collect from cookies for a period of 100 days from the date of collection, unless we receive your consent to retain for longer, or we have a legal obligation to retain, for example for invoicing purposes.
Please also see How long do we keep your personal information in our Privacy Policy.
Types of cookies that we use
We set the following types of cookies on Our Site and Client Sites:
Essential Cookies (our site only)
We use cookies where they are essential for the operation of Our Site, for example to remember that you are signed in to Our Site.
Functionality cookies
These are used to recognise you when you return to our website. This enables us to personalise our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
Session Cookies
We use cookies to allow Our Site to uniquely identify your browsing session on Our Site, which allows us to coordinate this information with data from Our Site server.
Analytics Cookies
We use “analytics” cookies. These, along with other information, allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people using Our Site and which features of Our Site are most popular.
We use this information to improve Our Site. We do not generally store any information that you provide to us in a cookie.
Social Media
We use cookies to personalise your interaction with social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and YouTube. Such cookies recognise users of those social media sites when you view social media content on Our Site. They also allow you to quickly share content across social media, through the use of simple ‘sharing’ buttons.
Our Site also contains features that enable you to use your Facebook account to sign in and create/maintain an account with us and to enable us to store your content. This involves the use of cookies.

Advertising Cookies

These cookies record a user’s visit to a Client Site, the pages the user has visited and the links they have followed. We use this information to help clients make their Client Site and the advertising displayed on it (and elsewhere as users access other websites and apps) more relevant to their interests.
Note, this section does not explain how Client Sites use cookies generally. If you have been directed to Our Site from a Client Site, please read this section in conjunction with the Client Site’s cookie policy.
